Literature Text

The wind blows low, and mournful,
through the fields so dim and grey.
There, lying in the grasses,
the Spring fell dead today.

Her once warm frame has fallen cold.
Her heart and breath are still.
The Lady Spring has fallen dead;
by mankind she was killed.

Now flowers die, and trees collapse;
the once green fields fall grey.
Without the lady, without her spring,
the seasons fade away.

There, beside the Chestnut tree,
beneath its mournful frame.
The Lady Spring lays fallen, dead.
Does mankind know no shame?

The Lady Spring has fallen dead,
by mankind she was killed.
There beneath the Chestnut tree,
her heart and breath fell still.

Without the Lady, seasons die;
without her man dies to.
Without her warmth, death will come,
and life shall not renew.

Lady Spring has fallen, dead.
Her heart and breath are still.
Blame mankind for season’s death;
for by mankind, she was killed.

Twas by mankind, she was killed.
By man, the spring was killed....
Another poem from my USB, I've actually beel looking for it for a while.
Nothing really inspired this- nothing that happened to me at least. It was my personality that made me want to write it. I've always bonded more with animals than people- I'm the one completely at ease with a rattlesnake around my shoulders (Happened when I was 5- blame my mother for not covering the fishtank she had it in) and walking around at night with about 14 stray dogs (And possibly a coyote).
Anyways, that more or less makes it obvious that I carry a slight hatred towards humans for slowly but surely destroying everything around them. Which is how this poem was born- my attachement to animals/nature paired with a natural hatered towards society.
